Science After Hours: Guess Whoo

See event update below about potential game changes in light of current air quality conditions.

The Buffalo Museum of Science’s adults-only Science After Hours is headed to Tifft Nature Preserve on June 9 for an outdoorsy twist on the popular board game!

Get a crash course on our feathered friends that call Tifft home before you hit the trails and talk to helpful birders for hints, and use the process of elimination to correctly Guess Whoo!

Did the bird in question have webbed feet? A yellow beak? Red markings?

Prior birding experience is not required to play this fun team game. It’s a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the birds at Tifft!

Once you submit your answer, regroup at the Darling Education Center to grab a drink, enjoy the sights and sounds of Tifft, or engage in lawn games and other fun activities.

Guess Whoo correctly in the time allowed to be entered to win prizes!

Tickets: $25 per person. Buffalo Museum of Science members save 10%.

Rain or shine; dress appropriately for the trails. Ages 21+; photo ID required.

Beer and wine available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks to eat in the Education Center at Tifft.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

The health of our guests, volunteers, and staff are our highest priority, and in light of the fluctuating air quality across our region we have been closely following the forecast in and around Tifft.

If the air quality at Tifft is “Moderate” or better at the time of the game we will continue to hold the game outdoors. We will have masks available for anyone who wishes to wear one during the game.

However, we have decided that if the quality is deemed “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” or worse, or in the event of unsafe weather conditions, we will move the game indoors. The game may look a little different, but we still have plenty of prizes to give away! The cash bar and most of our post-game activities and lawn games will also be available indoors for you to enjoy.

The trails and Education Center deck will continue to be accessible before, during, and after the game if you are comfortable with exploring outside.

Masks will be available to anyone who wishes to use one.

If you would also like to follow the forecast, you can do so here. Light orange or darker is considered Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups or worse.

Thank you for your understanding as we look out for everyone’s safety.
