Exclusive Guided Nature Experience

Presented by Independent Health

Looking for a special experience to celebrate a loved one’s birthday or other special occasion? Interested in reconnecting with nature or having a new experience at Tifft? Reserve a private guided tour with one of our engaging facilitators for up to eight members of the same household or close social circle/pod. This 1.5 hour tour will have you feeling like a VIP as you explore the sights and sounds of Tifft like never before.

Cost

$75 per group (BMS members save 10%), Payment is due in full at time of booking

If you are feeling unwell, have a temperature of 100.4°F or higher, or if over the past 14 days you have been in close proximity to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, please contact us at 716.825.6397 to reschedule.
  • Please meet your facilitator outside the Herb and Jane Darling Environmental Education Center.
  • The Center is still closed to the public however restrooms will be available, if needed.

NEW OFFERING! Made With Nature

Relax with a 30 minute rock painting workshop with acrylic paints tailored to children or adults, followed by a guided walk in search of colors, patterns, and textures in nature.

Birding to Relax

Beginner to experienced birders are invited to explore Tifft’s trails on a casual and relaxing search of seasonal birds. Binoculars and introduction to birding provided.

Bug-ology Lab

Borrow a bug net and become a bug-ologist on a guided safari through the fields, forests, or water in search of six, eight, and no-legged creatures! Available until September 30.

City Dump to Crown Jewel

Travel back in time and explore our Buffalo beginnings, from Seneca heritage to stockyards, railways, and dumping grounds on a guided history walk and exploration of artifacts.

Family Fishing

Discover what lurks below the surface of Lake Kirsty through a guided fishing experience. Fishing gear and bait will be provided. Participants over the age of 16 must have a valid NYS fishing license.

Restoring Biodiversity

Get an up-close look of Tifft’s most recent conservation and habitat restoration projects, from the Vernal Pool Project, to the Wetland Restoration Project, Living Shoreline Project, and more!

Tracking the Wild

Search for clues that Tifft’s residents leave behind and learn how to identify which animals left them.

Watercolors Outdoors

Put paintbrush to paper during a beginner journaling and watercolor class overlooking Lake Kirsty, while enjoying inspiring views of the water and beyond.

Wilderness Survival

Fire, shelter, water, food! Explore the introductory skills of outdoor survival and put them to the test in a fun, hands-on outdoor challenge!
