Operational Updates

The Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences prioritizes an environment that protects the health and safety of all our guests. We celebrate the science that has led to and informed the CDC’s actions to loosen face covering protocols for fully vaccinated individuals and we look forward with great anticipation to when all ages are eligible to receive the vaccine.

At Tifft Nature Preserve, we welcome visitors to explore our 264 acres without face coverings while outdoors. Trails are open from dawn until dusk.

The Herb and Jane Darling Environmental Education Center is now open at Tifft on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Masks are required for all individuals entering the Darling Environmental Education Center regardless of vaccination status and highly encouraged for all individuals outdoors when 6-ft distancing cannot be maintained.

Please check this page before your next visit for the latest operational updates, and you may also view the Buffalo Society of Natural Science’s reopening plan on the Buffalo Museum of Science website.
